As your Sheriff I will be dedicated to restoring public trust in this agency, healing the relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, and bringing the Granville County Sheriff’s Office into the light with a New Vision and New Direction.
We will be committed to working with the community to make Granville County a safe and desirable place to live, work, and visit. Our mission will be to partner with the community to solve problems and improve public safety in a manner that is fair, impartial, transparent, and consistent.
We will promote partnerships within our community to reduce crime and improve the overall quality of life, while encouraging the community to determine its own needs through the exchange of ideas and problem-solving techniques.
We plan to expand our outreach programs for youth and marginalized groups, hold monthly public forums, & create a Community Advisory Board to help make our community safer.
We will strive to provide service of the highest standards to our community through collaboration and creating an environment where our staff and our community will work together to make Granville County a great place to live, work, and play.
We are focused on developing partnerships, empowering underserved people, and working with community stakeholders to implement new trainings and policies for improved policing.
We will be committed to the prevention of crime, the protection of life and property, and the preservation of peace and public order. We will build upon our partnership with the community while enhancing the quality of life through innovative practices.
We plan to blend strategic enforcement with alternative crime prevention measures, as well as address underlying conditions that give rise to patterns of criminal activity.
"We need a competent, qualified Sheriff who can lead the department and execute the sworn duties of this Constitutional office. Granville County needs a Sheriff who will show up for work and will treat the community and the men and women of the Sheriff's Office with the respect and dignity they deserve."
I have over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, corrections, and security; I have lived in this county for many years, and I am passionate about making positive change in our community. I know I will be ready to implement effective and needed change to the Sheriff’s Office once elected.
Romans 13:12 tells us “The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So, let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.”
For far too long the scales of justice in our community have been unbalanced. A cloud of suspicion has hung over the Sheriff’s Office while the public’s trust has eroded away. The good deputies, detention staff, and civilian personnel have been subject to unfair criticism, due largely to the actions of others and to this culture of mistrust. The time is upon us to bring the Granville County Sheriff’s Office into the light with a New Vision and New Direction.
As Sheriff, my goal will be to serve Granville County with compassion, dignity, and respect. I will be focused on healing our community and restoring the trust in this office.
As I mentioned, I have spent my professional career working with a variety of people and organizations in the law enforcement and corrections sector. These experiences have prepared me to excel at this position; some of these include:
I am excited at the possibility of serving the people of Granville County, and look forward to the campaign trail ahead. I plan to knock on doors, meet constituents, listen to the concerns of the voters, and share our goals and vision for this county. I believe that together we can heal our community with collective voices and collective actions.
I am humbly asking you to get involved and help make a difference by donating to my campaign, spreading the word on social media, or encouraging your friends and family to vote. Your support will go a long way in helping us get our message out.
